Fashion has to have a narrative. - Nigel Barker
it has to have a story, a plan, some type of inspiration to go off of.
when you look at a fashion spread what do you actually look at?
is it the odd combinations of clothing?
the intense make-up and hair?
the rail thin models and their expressions?
the wondrous scenery?
I feel like when your looking at a picture, you need to see it all. look for the small broaches and pearl earrings. everything the model has on was planned and analyzed, the photographer and stylists wanted it to look that way. the magazines use only the shots that are interesting and sometimes they are a little out there, but sometimes they are just plain, simple, to the point. fashion is meant to be looked at! its meant to be taken in, and cause inspiration. look at these photos and now what do you see?
the profile shot reflected in the mirror.
her bare feet and the lining of her skirt.
her gorgeous archs, that bow tie, the rails on the windows.
the draping of the skirt, her pout, the empty storage room.
the pattern of the dress, her loose curls, the misty woods.
the jacket collar, is she wearing tights?, the way her eye is just barely visible from behind the gate
her sunnies, her color scheme, the way her hair is brushed back with the wind
